The Challenge

We were asked to pivot Sylvia Day’s image from niche romance novelist into that of a mainstream fiction writer. We had to reach new readers beyond the romance genre, while growing a loyal fan base who understands true romance transcends all genres.

The Work

Mod Op completely rebranded Sylvia Day’s brand persona complete with a new tagline, ‘Beyond Words’. This evolved into a 360 campaign including social media strategy and campaign, pop culture e-magazine, brand photography library, a brand anthem video, as well as the printed components for promotion of her books.


We shot a library of lifestyle photography and author photos to give the brand an elevated image.

We directed a brand anthem video, demonstrating Sylvia Day’s ability to go beyond conventions.

Social Media

We managed all the social media channels, including content strategy, copywriting and art direction.

Print & OOH

We handled all promotion for the launch of her new Crossfire novels.
